Tenoch Huerta is facing some serious allegations. Renowned Mexican activist María Elena Ríos is accusing the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever star of being a "sexual predator".
Mexican Saxophonist Blasts Anti-Racism Organization For Protecting 'Sexual Predator' Tenoch Huerta
María Elena Ríos is a renowned Mexican saxophonist who survived an acid attack by a politician ex-boyfriend who is now an activist speaking out against women abuse.
In a series of tweets, Rios confirmed she is distancing herself from Poder Prieto, an organization focused on combating racism in Mexico. One tweet pointed out that the organization, of which Tenoch Huerta is a member, wanted to use her to "avoid scandals over their Marvel movie."
"I made it very clear to them when I left their sect that they protect the violator and sexual PREDATOR of Tenoch Huerta that they not publish anything about me," Rios wrote.
"They still went to look for me at a hypocritical ball concert to avoid scandals over their Marvel movie," she added.
In another tweet, Ríos continued to accuse Huerta of sexual assault.
"It is very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved in the world for playing a character in a movie like Tenoch Huerta," she wrote.
"Charming in appearance, the great hallmark of a narcissist + a good helping of victimization," Rios added.
Tenoch Huerta, Poder Prieto, and Marvel Studios have not yet responded to Rios' allegations. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Huerta is best known for playing Rafael Caro Quintero in Netflix's Narcos: Mexico before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In 2022, he debuted as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a role that he is expected to reprise in future MCU projects.
His next project is the upcoming Netflix series The Chosen One, which begins streaming on August 16, 2023.
