Black Panther 2: Michael B. Jordan Teases Killmonger's Return in MCU Sequel

Black Panther 2 is still happening despite the unfortunate passing of Chadwick Boseman last year. But is it possible that the Marvel Cinematic Universe sequel will bring back a character who was killed in the original film? Michael B. Jordan has teased on Erik Killmonger's return in the upcoming movie.

Jordan was recently a guest on Good Morning America where he was asked if he would consider reprising the role of Killmonger in Black Panther 2. Not surprisingly, the Creed II star played coy about his involvement in the MCU sequel.

"I can't say too much about that one, man," Jordan said before pointing out that the loss of Boseman had been heartbreaking and meant that the studio needs to work out "what's best for the franchise."

Interestingly, Jordan continued by admitting that he considers the cast and crew as "family" and he would love to work with them again. "If I ever have the opportunity to get back into that franchise, I would," he said.

It's no surprise that Jordan is eager to work on Black Panther 2 considering that it will be directed by Ryan Coogler. The two had previously worked together on Fruitvale Station and Creed, and it's evident that they have a good working relationship.

We'd love to see Jordan in action again in the second Black Panther film. On the other hand, Killmonger is already dead in the MCU so bringing him back would be questionable.

Black Panther 2 will not recast the role of T'Challa and will instead focus on the many aspects of Wakanda. The film is scheduled for release on July 8, 2022.
