In the same listing that spoiled the impending reunion between Daredevil and Kingpin, the resume of Stacy Caballero, a costume designer, gets an update where it is leaked that she will be the assistant costume designer for Daniel Kaluuya for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and this just confirms that W’kabi will be back for the movie after his betrayal in the first film.

W’kabi has a complicated status in the MCU given that he used to be the friend and ally of T’Challa then he betrayed them by siding Killmonger. While a reconciliation closed that issue, W’kabi hasn’t been seen in the MCU after that, not even being there in the iconic battle of Wakanda in Infinity War nor in the triumphant victory of the Avengers in Endgame.

Following the demise of Black Panther star, the late Chadwick Boseman, Black Panther 2 has to go to a redirection of almost everything especially given that they would not recast his character as paying respect. The loss of the titular character has broken many hearts including the cast and crew he worked with and they remember him the best way through reshaping Black Panther 2.

Now that the throne and the mantle of Black Panther is open, people are rooting for T’Challa’s younger sister, Shuri, to fill the role. However, other theories point to other candidates to being the new leader of Wakanda such as M’baku and W’kabi. Everyone is also looking out for the possibility of having Killmonger resurrected from the dead now that it has been confirmed that Michael B. Jordan will reprise the role.

W'kabi may have a chance: he is a pure Wakandan, he is a formidable fighter as seen in the first film, and he could surely get the command in a room. However, where he would have a disadvantage would be his betrayal and it could cost him his spot. Do you think W'kabi will have a chance on the throne?

Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever is set to premiere in theaters on November 11, 2022.
