Unfortunately, the delay of one is the delay of many for movies in a whole franchise like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since the first to come out, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, had its release date pushed back two months further in the calendar, it goes the same for Black Panther 2 and the rest of the movies in the slate, up until Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever of Ryan Coogler will be pushed back from July 8, 2022 to November 11, 2022, giving them four more months to prepare for the release of the film. The delay is said to be due to production issues, something not related to the box office unlike rumors spreading about such. Currently, the movie is under production as filming is expected to be finished before this year ends.

Executives from Marvel has confirmed that Boseman would neither be recast nor recreated through CGI and that he would be given a proper tribute in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While it remains in the shadows who would replace T’Challa as the new leader of Wakanda, the closest bet of many would be Letitia Wright’s Shuri, sister of the king.
