Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Finally Finishes Filming

One of the most-anticipated films this year is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the follow-up to hit 2018 film which became a huge phenomenon and won several accolades including three Academy Awards. However, there were challenges leading up to its production, particularly the death of its lead star Chadwick Boseman back in August 2020 and the upcoming sequel now has to deal with the aftermath and address who will take the next mantle.

Early on in the film's production, Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri, sustained an injury caused by an accident during a stunt which led to the team adjusting their schedule as they continued filming while the actress is recovering from her injury. Fortunately, after they paused in November as all scenes without Wright were already filmed, production was finally able to resume with the actress now fully recovered and they also moved to Puerto Rico a few weeks ago to finish the rest. Now, after several months, filming for the upcoming sequel has finally wrapped.

According to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever News Twitter account, costume designer Ruth E. Carter, hairstylist Nikki Wright, and cinematographer Autumn Durald posted on their social media that filming for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has finished. Carter and Wright both posted on their Instagram (which are now deleted) of themselves in Puerto Rico celebrating the wrap while Durald posted on her Instagram Story a photo of her celebratory drink along with the caption, "The end" and a Puerto Rico flag.

It is wonderful to hear that filming for Wakanda Forever is finally done since they've been working on it for months and it is scheduled to be released later this year which means that they should have already started the post-production process. So far, the film is still sticking with its release date so we should not be anticipating any possible delay as of this moment.

Now, all they need to do is to finish the film and hopefully, they will deliver a satisfying follow-up that will also do a respectful way to honor the legacy of Boseman and address who will take the next mantle that fans would be very happy with. Let's just wait and see how this film will perform which we still are several months away to find out the answer.
