Spring 2024 has lots of exciting new and returning shows. As we’re now a month into the new anime season, it’s the perfect time to talk about the best anime opening songs of Spring 2024.

This season’s anime lineup is strong when it comes to music, so it was a difficult task to narrow it down to just the top 10.

To make things a bit easier, this list features the highlight anime songs of the season combined with how well they work with the opening animation. Plus, extra points are given to songs that match their show’s vibe.

So, here are our top 10 anime opening song picks for Spring 2024.

  1. A Condition Called Love – Kimi no Sei by Sexy Zone

Taking the 10th spot is A Condition Called Love with its opening song Kimi no Sei by Sexy Zone. While you’d expect a sweet anime such as this to have a more chill song, the anime’s opening has quite an energetic beat.

It also helps that the song is accompanied by some adorable scenes that show off cute moments between the two main characters. We especially love the scene of the two floating together amidst cherry blossoms.

  2. The Irregular at Magic High School Season 3 – Shouted Serenade by LiSA

For something with a bit more energy, there’s Shouted Serenade by LiSA, which is the opening song of The Irregular at Magic High School season 3.

At this point, LiSA needs no introduction. Thanks to her iconic songs for Demon Slayer, Sword Art Online, and Fate/Zero, she is one of the best singers for action-packed shows.

LiSA delivers once again, as her latest track is another banger that captures the action of the third season well. Plus, the animated scenes in the opening are also a great complement to the song.

  3. Delicious in Dungeon – Unmei by sumika

Delicious in Dungeon technically began in Winter 2024, though it continued with its second cour this season accompanied by the new song Unmei by sumika.

This new track may be a bit different from the first opening, but the band sumika’s new song is a fun and bouncy song that fits the adventures of Laios’ party.

Elevating the opening is the cute animated sequence for the opening credits that features a lot of colors. Fitting as the opening is revealed to be a dream sequence for the party.

  4. Wind Breaker – Zettai Reido by natori

CloverWorks’ new Wind Breaker anime has already delighted fans with its great action, not to mention its loveable tsundere protagonist.

Its opening song Zettai Reido by natori is a perfect fit for the show, as it’s fast and full of energy while being accompanied by dynamic action scenes.

As a bonus, the opening animation also features some quieter moments that show Haruka Sakura and his fellow Furin High School students.

  5. Bartender: Glass of God – Stardust Memory by Takaya Kawasaki

It may be flying under the radar, but Bartender: Glass of God's opening song Stardust Memory is a highlight of the season.

The song may be a bit slow for those who prefer tracks with pulsating beats, but that’s what makes it such a good opening.

Aside from matching the show’s elegant vibe, the opening animation features some delectable cocktails that will make you want to drop by your nearest bar.

  6. KonoSuba Season 3 – Growing Up by Machico

KonoSuba is back with season 3, and Machico is also here with another song titled Growing Up. Even though that’s the song’s title, Kazuma and his party have not grown up one bit as shown in the new opening.

On its own, the song is bright and cheery, which matches the show’s comedy well. What elevates it though is the animated sequence.

Much like the show’s previous openings, this latest one is kind of like a mini-episode as it shows Kazuma and his party going on another adventure, resulting in another fatality for Kazuma.

Thankfully, Eris brings him back again.

  7. Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night – Irodori by KanoeRana

As it’s an anime about an artist group, it makes sense that Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night's opening song Irodori is a stand-out track.

This song balances excitement and emotion, making it a fitting way to open each episode. It also helps that the song is quite catchy and will have viewers humming.

To top it off, the opening animation features lots of eye-catching Shibuya visuals; fitting given that the show is set in Tokyo’s major downtown district.

  8. Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf - Tabi no Yukue by Hana Hope

Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf is the series’ long-awaited return, and it comes with a brand-new song titled Tabi no Yukue by Hana Hope.

This is perhaps the most subdued song in this list as it’s more like a ballad, though it picks up at the halfway point, making for a memorable song that matches the wholesome adventure and romance between Holo and Lawrence.

Moreover, the opening animation also balances sequences of the main duo with various European-inspired locales, giving it a grander sense of adventure.

  9. Go Go Loser Ranger – Jikai Yokoku by Tatsuya Kitani

Taking the runner-up spot in our list is Jikai Yokoku by Tatsuya Kitani for Go Go Loser Ranger.

While Kitani already performed songs for titles such as Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen, his latest track is his most unique anime song yet.

Sure, it features Kitani’s excellent vocals as always, but it features some unexpected production flourishes such as a young choir, which gives the song a unique flavor.

This surprisingly works well combined with the colorful animated scenes, not to mention the show’s Power Rangers-inspired story and action.

  10. Kaiju No. 8 – Abyss by Yungblud

Taking the top spot is Kaiju No. 8 with its opening song Abyss. This opening song is the highlight of Spring 2024 because of how unique and catchy it is.

For starters, this song is performed by English singer Yungblud, who is best known for tracks that combine rock, hip-hop, and punk.

Aside from non-Japanese artists being an uncommon choice for anime openings, Yungblud’s latest song is incredibly catchy and has a darker atmosphere that complements the series’ setting.

Finally, the song accompanies a dynamic opening sequence that features glossy 3D animation, making it the most striking Spring 2024 opening, at least in our eyes.
