Who is Baylan Skoll? Meet the Villain From Ahsoka

Dave Filoni promised Star Wars fans that Tales of the Empire would get to highlight two interesting characters choosing their destined paths: Morgan Elsbeth (played by Diana Lee Inosanto) and Barriss Offee (Meredith Salenger).

With the involvement of Grand Admiral Thrawn, fans couldn't help but question if we'll get to see Baylan Skoll in one of the Tales of the Empire episodes.

For the uninitiated, Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) was one of the main antagonists in the limited Disney+ series, Ahsoka.

He was a former Jedi Knight and Jedi General in the Grand Army of the Republic who eventually joined forces with Morgan as they mutually sought the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn of the Galactic Empire.

At one point, Morgan trusted Baylan enough to free her from a cell on the New Republic transport Vesper for trial. Baylan was one of the mercenaries she hired in secret.

Considering his bleak mysterious past, fans were hoping he'd get his story fleshed out in Tales of the Empire. So, did he?

Unfortunately, the short answer is no. However, don't lose hope just yet.

In episode 3 titled The Path of Hate, someone mentions there had been "strange folk going about" despite Morgan's absence. "Mercenaries, I think, coming and going."

Perhaps this was one of the discreet moments Baylan Skoll got to nearly make his brief appearance in the animated series, but no one knows for sure.

If you do think about it, this was how Baylan Skoll worked in the Ahsoka series: lowkey and undercover until Morgan needed help escaping from her prison cell.

It is worth mentioning that the actor who played him, Ray Stevenson, passed away last year, which may have been one of the reasons.

Then again, we'll have to wait and see what Tales of the Empire showrunners have to say about his absence.
