Batgirl Actor Slams Warner Bros. Discovery CEO for the Film's Cancellation

The shocking cancellation of Batgirl by Warner Bros. earlier this month was met with disappointment from fans and the people who were involved in the film including the directors and its star Leslie Grace. Until now, there are people who are still shocked and confused by the decision considering that the studio spent around $90 million to produce the film.

Recently, an actor who worked on Batgirl shared their thoughts on IndieWire about the film's cancellation. The actor, who chose to be anonymous, expressed their sadness about the news and for the people who were involved in the film. They also slammed Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav by calling him an "imbecile."

"I felt a considerable amount of comfort (and sincere sadness) reading your excellent article and the examination of this whole nightmare. The multiple streaming avenues and their vague guarantees appear anything but secure," the actor said.

"I am very offended by what happened and feel terrible for the directors and Leslie Grace, who were all wonderful to work with, as well as all of the technicians. It was an enormous, rewarding challenge to make this movie during Covid, and during the cold weather in Glasgow."

The actor concluded, "None of these things matter to an imbecile like [Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav]. His cowardice is breathtaking. I am glad I got to participate and I wish the best for all those involved — except the suits at Warner Brothers. But they all get replaced sooner than later."

You can feel from the actor's words that they were really upset and disappointed by the decision. It is truly an unfortunate situation for the people who were involved in the making of the film since they worked hard on it for months and nobody can ever see what they did.

It looks like there is no sign that Warner Bros. Discovery will reverse the decision considering that they now have a new ten-year plan to reshape the future of the DCEU franchise. However, there are reports that the studio still wants to be in business with Grace and it would be interesting to see if they'll be able to make a new deal.
