Avatar: The Last Airbender Animated Films Will Reportedly Focus on Kyoshi, Zuko, and Korra

It has already been confirmed that there are currently three new Avatar: The Last Airbender movies in development. However, it looks like one of them will take place after Aang's time. A new report suggests that the new animated films will focus on Avatar Kyoshi, Prince Zuko, and Avatar Korra!

We previously reported about the Avatar: The Last Airbender films and how each one is expected to take place in the Avatar universe. However, Avatar News now reveals new details about the three new projects. The report points out that the first movie will be a prequel to Aang's timeline and feature Avatar Kyoshi while the second film will explore Zuko's story after he becomes the Fire Lord.

Interestingly, the third movie will be set in a different Avatar's timeline. According to the report, it will be set in the era of Avatar Korra and will expand on what happened after the end of the animated series.

It is important to note that it was not revealed whether the first and third films will focus on Kyoshi and Korra themselves but rather that the movies will be set during their timelines. However, it looks like Zuko will be the primary focus of the second film and will reveal how he dealt with being the new Fire Lord.

Former Avatar storyboard artist and supervising producer Lauren Montgomery will direct the first of the trilogy. Co-creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino have been confirmed to produce the untitled feature with longtime producing partner Eric Coleman. All of the new movies will be produced under Avatar Studios, which was formed in 2021 under Nickelodeon.

The first movie is set to premiere in 2024 and will be followed by the second film in 2025. The Korra project will then hit theaters in 2026.
