Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 3 finally has a release date, though it will be split into two. Following this reveal, Attack on Titan fans began making fun of the seemingly never-ending Final Season.

While The Final Season Part 3 is still going to be the anime’s last season, it was decided that it will be split into two parts, with the second half airing in 2023.

Many fans found this to be rather ridiculous, especially as the Final Season has now been stretched out to over three years.

Because the anime is based on a manga that was serialized monthly, Attack on Titan has always had an unusual release schedule.

After the first season in 2013, it took five years before another season was released.

Meanwhile, the third season was split into two halves. This also happened with the fourth and final season which has been split into multiple parts.

Effectively, the show’s “Final Season” is composed of three seasons.

No one is exactly sure why this confusing season naming scheme has been put in place, especially since it would’ve been less confusing if they just named The Final Season Parts 1 and 2 as Seasons 5 and 6, respectively.

If that wasn’t confusing enough, the Part 3 announcement mentioned that its first half will get a special broadcast this March.

Because of how it was worded, there’s a chance that Part 3 will instead be composed of two long episodes or OVAs.

While many fans expected that Part 3 will be released in Spring 2023, there were already jokes being made about the never-ending Attack on Titan Final Season. Now, that turned out to be the case.

In response, fans went on Twitter to share lots of jokes and memes about how ridiculous Attack on Titan: The Final Season, The Final Part is.

Of course, most of these reactions are lighthearted jokes as, despite the confusing release strategy, fans are still excited to see how the anime will end.

For reference, the manga series ended with a controversial finale.

Because of this, some believe that the anime might be changing up the finale a bit, hence the need to split Part 3 into further parts.

The first part of Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 will air on March 3, 2023. Meanwhile, the second half will be released later this year.
