As an anime that has been around for over a decade, there was a lot of hype for Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 4.

To build up on the excitement, Attack on Titan went the extra mile for promotions. Aside from holding a Colossal Titan exhibit in Shibuya, the anime also readied 24 hours of new content ahead of the finale’s broadcast.

Among these is a behind-the-scenes program that was shown on NHK. This program featured a deep dive into the final recording session for the show’s last chapters.

The program revealed that there was a lot of effort put into recording the finale voice lines. After all, this is the last time that the cast will play their characters.

Many of the cast members were moved by the experience. In fact, Mikasa VA Yui Ishikawa was brought to tears after recording her final voice lines. This got a lot of attention from fans over the last couple of days.

Another interesting tidbit about the finale is the voice of the crying baby that was shown in one of the finale’s most moving sequences.

Instead of being voiced by a professional VA, the baby was instead voiced by Yuki Kaji and Ayana Taketatsu’s (Nino Nakano in The Quintessential Quintuplets) child.

Of course, this didn’t mean the baby went to the recording booth and cried. Instead, Kaji sent numerous recordings of his baby crying to the show’s staff. These were then used to voice the baby in the finale.

The reveal of Kaji’s baby voicing a character delighted fans. It may be a small role, but many think that it shows how special the show is for its cast.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 4 is out now on Crunchyroll. Meanwhile, a multi-episode version of the finale will be released on Japanese streaming platforms soon.
