The final season of Attack on Titan has been exciting anime fans throughout the Winter 2022 season. Some are suggesting it may be one of the greatest series of all time, as Eren’s Founding Titan begins its great march.
However, recent news from the official Attack on Titan website suggests that fans may be about to experience some disappointment.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 12 Delayed
It’s been announced that Episode 87 - episode 12 in the latest run - will be delayed by a week. Originally scheduled for March 27th, the episode will now air on April 3rd, one week later.
At the same time, it was also announced that episode 84 will be delayed by 10 minutes.
Why is Attack on Titan Episode 87 Delayed?
No detailed reason for these changes has been provided, however, it’s likely a result of the Winter Olympics coverage on NHK in Japan. Some other episodes have recently had releases moved to accommodate coverage of the ongoing events.
Some anime fans have already been drawing comparisons between this announcement and the fate that recently befell season two of 86, which had its final episodes delayed. However, given the hype around Attack on Titan, we would be hugely surprised if this amounted to an issue on that scale.
At the same time, there is still no official confirmation yet regarding the length of Attack on Titan season four, part two. Fans are still wondering whether this will be the final episode or just the beginning of the big finish for the acclaimed series.
Either way, this latest announcement will give everyone plenty of time to wonder what might happen next, at such a crucial time for the series.
