Disney's D23 Expo gave us a lot of updates on the company's upcoming projects including the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe shows. Luckily, we finally got to learn more about Armor Wars, the MCU series that will feature James "Rhodey" Rhodes. In addition to that, Don Cheadle has just revealed the plot of the Disney+ show!
Don Cheadle was in attendance at D23 Expo where he spoke to Comicbook.com about Armor Wars. Although most Marvel stars prefer to play coy about their projects, Cheadle pretty much revealed what will happen in his MCU series.
"If you know anything about the lore, and you've read the comic books, you understand that it's a series that was built around Tony's Stark Tech getting out and Rhodey taking it on to go get this tech back from the bad hands, the bad actors whose hands it is in," Cheadle said. He then added that although this is what is set to happen, fans can still expect something new in the show.
"As Marvel does, it's also an opportunity to take the mythology and tip it on its head a little bit and come up with different ways to tell the story, so it's doing that and has done that in spades," Cheadle stated.
We already know that Armor Wars will follow this storyline but the little details have yet to be revealed. There have been previous reports suggesting that Ant-Man and The Wasp star Walton Goggins will reprise his role as Sonny Burch in the series but this has not yet been confirmed. Hopefully, we'll get more updates on the show in the next few weeks.
For now, Don Cheadle is the only confirmed star of Armor Wars, which will. beset after the events in Secret Invasion. The series has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
