Before Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry in 2018, she was already friends with some A-list celebrities, including Serena Williams. These two have remained close since then, so how is their friendship today?

Meghan and Serena have been there for each other since their first meeting in 2010. They continuously support one another, from their professional to personal lives. So, take a look at these two women's friendship that can be said like no other.

Meghan Markle and Serena Williams' First Meeting

According to the Duchess of Sussex's now-defunct blog, The Tig, they first met in Miami during the 2010 Super Bowl.

However, it took them four years before they finally developed a close friendship.

They officially became friends when they played for the DirecTV Beach Bowl in 2014.

"We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in, and chatting not about tennis or acting, but about all the good old-fashioned girlie stuff. So began our friendship," the former actress wrote on her blog, via E! News.

In the same year, Meghan congratulated Serena for winning the U.S. Open, which furthered their bond.

"She quickly became a confidante I would text when I was traveling, the friend I would rally around for her tennis matches, and the down-to-earth chick I was able to grab lunch with just a couple weeks ago in Toronto," Prince Harry's wife continued to write. "We are both the same age, have a penchant for hot sauces, and adore fashion, but what connects us more than those things is perhaps our belief in exceeding expectations — our endless ambition."

Meghan Markle and Serena Williams' Close Bond

Meghan continuously supported Serena, congratulating her on her every winning game. She was even there when the former World No. 1 launched her own line at Fashion Week in 2016.

She, too, told Vogue that Serena would be an "amazing mom" when news about her pregnancy came out in 2017.

Alternatively, one of the greatest tennis players of all time also showed her support for Meghan's then-newfound love with the Duke of Sussex. She even told her just to let her personality shine and be herself when their romance began.

Come 2018, Serena attended their royal wedding with her husband, Alexis Ohanian. And though she was already a duchess, she continued to support her at Wimbledon with her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

"Now she's supporting me in a different role. But our friendship is still exactly the same," Serena stated, via Insider.

And despite everything that has happened, from Meghan stepping down from her senior royal role to moving to the U.S., Serena has always been a part of her support system.

Serena was even Meghan's guest on her first podcast episode.
