Do Kaguya and Miyuki Confess During the Culture Festival?
For three entire seasons, the questions hadn't been whether the characters would start dating, but whether they would even confess at all, as both were too proud to do so.
Finally, the ending of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 3 had them both make their feelings for each other clear. Still, the encounter isn't what either of them had hoped for.
Both Kaguya and Shirogane had given themselves a deadline to confess their feelings by the end of the culture festival. But while Miyuki asks Kaguya to go to Stanford with him and offers her a romantic rain of heart-shaped balloons, he doesn't tell her that he loves her.
Similarly, Kaguya responds with a kiss but doesn't verbally express her feelings which causes them both some confusion.
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is seinen so some romance anime tropes are, to an extent, parodied. This is definitely the case with Kaguya's insistence to get a proper confession from Miyuki even though their mutual feelings are clear.
At the same time, the anime acknowledges the very real fact that a teenager's first romantic experience can be confusing, so it's no wonder that we are not yet clear if Kaguya and Shirogane are dating yet.
Are Kaguya and Shirogane Dating Now?
Kaguya and Shirogane are probably not officially dating yet as of the anime's last episode - but it won't be too long now.
In the post-credit scene, Kaguya and Shirogane secretly hold hands - a fact that the rest of the student council cannot see because of the table in front of them.
After the anime, you can start reading Kaguya-sama: Love is War from Chapter 139 which takes place right after the culture festival.
However, it takes around 20 more chapters for Kaguya and Shirogane to start dating. This happens in chapter 160, with Shirogane telling Kaguya that he loves her. After that, their friends gradually start finding out as well.
