Aquaman Director Remakes Stephen King's Tommyknockers

As fans wonder when the first Aquaman trailer will be coming out, director James Wan seems to be getting ready for his next horror endeavor. Stephen King's It proved to be a huge success when it came out, impressing fans of the original movie and the book. Hollywood is hoping that lightning strikes twice, as Wan and Roy Lee team up to remake Stephen King's TheTommyknockers.

Both Wan and Lee have teamed up with producer Larry Sanitsky for the project. Sanitsky was the producer of the Tommyknockers TV mini-series in 1993, so it will be interesting to see how this iteration changes from the original.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is expected to garner interest after the success of It and the fact that The Tommyknockers is Stephen King's second best-selling book.

Here's a synopsis of the series:

"The story focuses on a town in Maine that falls under the influence of a dangerous gas from an unearthed space craft. The gas begins to transform the people, giving them enhanced abilities, but also making them violent and subject to an alien hive mentality. One man, thanks to a steel plate in his head, is immune to the effects and tries to stop the townspeople."

No release date for the adaptation has been announced thus far. It is available now on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital outlets.
