It's almost certain that the post-credit scenes gimmick isn’t going away any time soon, as more movies and franchises outside the uber-popular Marvel Cinematic Universe continue to grow.

One of those franchises is obviously the DC Universe which has also followed the same treatment with their projects. Now, the question is, will DC be keeping up this tradition of post-credit scenes in the next film, say, like Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom?

Post-credit scenes are great teasers to tell the viewers what the franchise has coming up next in their roster. Since Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is coming out this December, let’s take a quick recap on what the first film had for their post-stinger.

The first Aquaman film may have already declared the Black Manta, Aquaman’s deadliest foe, dead, but we’re well aware this won’t be our last time witnessing Arthur come up against him.

See, the Black Manta’s main goal is to seek revenge against Aquaman for killing his father, who was responsible for attacking Arthur’s father first.

Although the Atlantean half-breed didn’t want to go to such lengths, it was clear that their family wasn’t filled with good people.

Though the first film seemingly depicted the Black Manta had fallen to his death, the end credits scene showed the villain floating on a raft boat and getting rescued by Doctor Stephen Shin.

Doctor Shin is a scientific expert who believes that Atlantis is very much real, and upon finding out how the Black Manta wants to hunt down Aquaman, the two are likely working together as the main villains in the sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Shin will be helping Manta find out Aquaman’s true identity, while Manta’s ray-shaped, laser beam-firing equipment gets fixed under Shin’s capabilities and knowledge about Atlantean technology.

As of writing, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom hasn’t been confirmed to get their own post-credit scenes.

But considering how The Flash and Blue Beetle had their own, chances are high that the Aquaman sequel will also get at least one post-stinger.

The Flash's post-stinger has a direct connection with Aquaman. See, in its post-credit scene, Jason Momoa was seen drunk at the pub and handed an ancient artifact over to Barry, though it wasn't explained what exactly it was.

It doesn't help that the solo film isn't going to lead to the events of Aquaman 2, since both films are independent from one another.

For now, you can check out the teaser trailer for Aquaman 2’s trailer below:

DC and Warner Bros. recently released the official synopsis for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which teases the Black Manta’s revenge-seeking drive toward Atlantis’ new King.

With this in mind, Arthur Curry will be forced to form an unlikely alliance with his imprisoned brother Orm, the former King of Atlantis.

However, if they want to save Aquaman’s family and protect the world from irreversible destruction, they must set their differences aside and work together against a formidable foe.
