Apink member Jung Eun Ji and Lee Sang Yeob might work together in the upcoming Kdrama series, Genie, Earth.
Director Heo Jong Ho will mark his first-ever drama series amid his success in the filmmaking industry. He has since created several hit films, including Monstrum and The Advocate: A Missing Body.
He will be working with writer Park Hee Gang who will write the script.

Jung Eun Ji, Lee Sang Yeob In Talks To Play Lead Roles
JTBC News received an exclusive tip from an industry insider who shared the casting news. The source revealed that the idol and actor currently appear as the potential main stars for the new Kdrama series.
The drama, with the literal title Genie, Earth, explores the life of a former prosecutor named Gyu Tae, who accidentally gains supernatural power. He starts to fight against the evil forces lurking in many parts of the Earth.

In response to the report, Jung Eun Ji’s agency IST Entertainment and Lee Sang Yeob’s label UB Management both shared similar responses, saying that the stars are reviewing the offers they receive to star in the drama.
If they accept the offer, Lee Sang Yeob will play Oh Gyu Tae’s role. The once-unemployed character experiences a total change in life when he starts communicating with an unknown being and gains power from it.
Meanwhile, Jung Eun Ji has the chance to play the female lead character, Yoo Ye Joo. The former instructor joins forces with Oh Gyu Tae in pursuit of saving the world.
Lee Sang Yeob Has a Full-Packed Schedule
Before receiving the offer, Lee Sang Yeob already confirmed his appearance in the KBS2’ Kdrama, Pure Boxer. The sports drama is based on Choo Jong Nam’s novel, Pure Boxer Lee Kwon Sook.
It tells the story of a genius boxer and an agent who match-fixes for the money and success of his athletes.
The actor and Kim So Hye will lead the Kdrama, with Lee Sang Yeob taking on the role of S&P Sports agent Kim Tae Young.
The new Kdrama series is expected to be released in the first half of this year.
