Most fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe may not be aware of it but Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has already begun filming in London and while we still know very little about the film apart from the involvement of Kang the Conqueror as the main baddie, the project is already shaping up to be better and more serious in nature than the first two films.
Aside from Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly leading the cast as Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, Ant-Man 3 will also mark the official MCU debut of Freaky actress Kathryn Newton who took over the Cassie Lang role from Emma Fuhrmann who played the character in Avengers: Endgame. Newton's casting was initially met with fans' mixed reactions but the rising Hollywood star is determined to prove everyone wrong.
Taking to Instagram, Newton revealed that she's been preparing physically for the role and even showed off her impressive toned physique. It's safe to assume that she's already in London to film her scenes in the film. Does this mean we'll actually see her superhero alter ego Stinger/Stature in action in the film? Honestly, I'm still bummed out over the fact that the studio decided to recast Cassie twice because I've always believed they should've kept Abby Ryder-Fortson in the role. She and Paul Rudd had tremendous chemistry together in the first two Ant-Man films. Yeah, while I do get the idea that Stinger/Stature should be somewhere in her late teens, I think Abby would've played the superhero role just as well.
I mean, we have a young Wiccan and Speed in the MCU after all, not to mention Kamala Khan who is in her early teens but I guess it is what it is. I'm still willing to give Newton a shot though 'cause she's a pretty good actress in her own right.
