Andy Serkis Drops Major Hint About Kino Loy’s ‘Lonely’ Star Wars Future in Andor

Andy Serkis, who plays Kino Loy from Andor, has just dropped a bombshell about what’s in store for his character in the Star Wars future.

Andor Season 1 portrayed Serkis failing to jump into the waters surrounding the Narkina 5 prison facility, considering he didn’t know how to swim, which rendered him stiff from jumping off.

Since then, fans have been wondering if Kino Loy managed to stay alive amid the prison break at the end of Season 1.

Well, good news, folks, Serkis just provided a major hint at where his character goes from the Season 1 finale:

“Let’s just say that Narkina 5 is a very lonely place without other people.” Serkis cryptically teased in a recent interview with Empire.

This could only mean one thing: Kino Loy has no plan of staying put in one place. There’s a high chance he’ll form a new guide to help himself escape on his own.

Serkis has previously confirmed Kino Loy is alive after the Season 1 finale: “Well, as we know is still alive, he’s on Narkina 5 sitting in his cell planning his next movie, man. I hope he’s out there and I hope he comes back someday.”

Serkis added: “I really love the arc of that character, and I think there’s definitely — I’m just imagining him sitting at Narkina 5 at the moment, on his own, perfecting his backstroke.”

Andor Season 2 was initially well on its way as it continued filming and production amid the WGA writers’ strike, however, the series has quite recently halted its production in support of the aforementioned strike.

It is worth mentioning though that Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy confirmed having completed the scripts for Season 2 before the strike occurred.

Not because he wanted to get ahead of the strike, but because “our thing rhymed with the strike. I finished the last script of the twenty-four.”

Andor Season 2 was previously slated for a 2024 release on Disney+. For now, you can catch up on all episodes of Andor Season 1 streaming on Disney+.
