Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's domestic abuse issues has been among Hollywood's hot topics in recent weeks, but for the two actors, life goes on career-wise.
In the case of Heard, the 30-year-old actress was cast as Mera, the Queen of Atlantis, back in March. She will be part of the Justice League films and Aquaman in 2018. With Justice League in principal photography since early April, Mera's role is bound to be filmed at some point, most probably sooner than later.
Well, according to TMZ, the actress was supposed to attend a costume fitting for Justice League in London. In fact, it was her excuse for being unavailable for a deposition. However, it would seem that her current personal issues could be affecting production as TMZ claims the Justice League production crew said the actress was too think and not "camera ready." Heard reportedly lost 20 pounds due to the "overwhelming" stress of her case with Depp. If this is true, then it would seem that her weight loss is becoming a problem for production, as it would certainly delay filming. It's either production has to wait for Heard to gain some weight or they have to alter her costume.
Justice League most probably has still further scenes to shoot, but it's likely that shooting scenes of Mera have to be delayed until the "costume situation" is mended. Obviously, they can't find another actress to fill in the role since it would be too late at this point. They may have to settle for the actress' current shape, even if they see her as not "camera ready."
Hopefully, that wouldn't have to be the case.
Details of Amber Heard's role as Mera remain unknown, but the character isn't expected to be a member of the Justice League, although in the comics, the character is known for her enchanted strength and aquakinesis.
