Alien: Convenant Releases First Ever Photo From Set

The first photo from the set of Ridley Scott's Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant, has just been released.

The image was released by 20th Century Fox as part of the Alien Day celebration.

It shows a patch with the name of the fateful Weyland-Yutani Corporation, making it appear that the company has now taken part in the merger that was apparent in Prometheus. This brings the franchise ever closer to the timeline of Alien.

Take a look:

Worth noting are the two winged figures facing each other in the logo, akin to the angels integrated on the Ark of the Covenant in Indiana Jones:Raiders of the Lost Ark. The angels are uncannily similar to the figures on top of the chest in the Indiana Jones film that contains the stone tablets where the Ten Commandments are written.

It looks like the storyline of Alien: Covenant will touch upon some biblical elements.

Alien: Covenant stars Katherine Waterston, Michael Fassbender, Demián Bichir, and Danny McBride.

Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant is slated for release on August 4, 2017.
