Alchemy of Souls has actively had viewers on the edge of their seats, with Episode 2 released on June 19, 2022. The new period Kdrama series depicts the story of young magicians who deal with both heaven and earth.
Naksu, a powerful sorceress who becomes an assassin, hides her soul in a blind woman who encounters a young man from a prestigious family who eventually seeks her help changing his future.
Spearheaded by Jung So Min, Lee Jae Wook, and Hwang Minhyun, Alchemy of Souls, is aired on tvN. It was written by the Hong sisters, Hong Jung Eun and Hong Mi Ran.

Alchemy of Souls Episode 2 sees a brief glimpse at the secret behind Jang Wook’s birth and the very reason why he cannot use his powers to full potential. This is why he did not hesitate as soon as he discovered that Mu Deok Yi had the soul of Naksu inside her body.
Jang Wook tries to seal a deal with Mu Deok Yi. He suggests he will find her sword in exchange for her being his master.
On the other hand, the whole of Songrim was barricaded when Park Jin concluded that the attack happened because there was a spy. He called for help from the Jin family to identify the soul shifter that had been hiding within the people of Songrim.
Jin Choyeon appears with the Gwigu, a ghost Sapsali that detects sorcery. Afraid it might detect Naksu inside Mu Deok Yi’s body, Jang Wook tried to hide her behind him and was confident that no one in the room would let Gwigu hurt the young mage.
However, luck might have been on their side when the Gwigu detected a soul shifter hiding as one of the guards. The soul shifter turns to stone, which had Mu Deok Yi fear what will happen if they find out who she really is.

Lee Jae Wook Sacrifices Himself For Jung So Min In Alchemy Of Souls Episode 2
Jang Wook was so eager to find a new master, and he knew Mu Deok Yi was the only one who could help him.
So as soon as Jang Wook discovers that the Gwigu has detected Naksu in Mu Deok Yi’s body, he does not think twice and has to do something.
He ordered Mu Deok Yi to escape as he ran back to the quarters to break the Gwigu. Right on time, the ghost Sapsali suddenly disappears.
But the consequences of breaking a family heirloom followed Jang Wook. He was punished and had to stay kneeling without saying any word.
Mu Deok Yi left him at Songrim and swore that if she ever crossed paths with him again, she would spare his life as he was the only one who tried to save her.
Weeks after, Naksu’s body was ordered to be burned in public. Seo Yul wonders if Naksu is the same woman he had met years ago because of the whistle he found with her remains.

Jung So Min Helps Lee Jae Wook To Awaken His Powers In Alchemy Of Souls Episode 2
Seeing her body burn to ashes was devastating, and Mu Deok Yi was about to give up until Jang Wook knocked sense in her. He gave her the sword and urged her to try and unsheath it so she could recover her powers.
However, it was no use as she had grown weaker by the days that passed. Almost at a point of no return, Mu Deok Yi tries to end her life but fails as the sword suddenly surrounds her with unknown energy, bringing her back to the shore.
On the other hand, Mu Deok Yi had an idea on how she could help Jang Wook awaken his powers. She had him drink poison and told the people at Songrim that the only way to save him was to open his gate of energy.
As they had no time to waste, Master Seo performed a ritual to open Jang Wook’s gate of energy so they could save his life.

Mu Deok Yi’s plan succeeded, but she was terribly tortured in the process. Jang Wook finds her fainted body along with a proposal that she will now be his master.
