Ahmed Best has publicly shown his support for The Acolyte star Amandla Stenberg following the show's abrupt cancellation.

It was last week when we learned the unfortunate news that the High Republic-set Star Wars series will not be moving forward with a second season. A lot of fans online immediately expressed their disappointment over the decision.

It also did not help that the show has been the subject of hate and vitriol from toxic fans since its premiere as they called it "woke" for having a diverse ensemble.

Ahmed Best Throws Support for The Acolyte Following Cancellation

In his recent post on Instagram, Best expressed his support for Stenberg following the cancellation of The Acolyte and the hate messages that she's been getting.

"I will always stand in solidarity for artists who give 110% to their work and art. Keep shining queen @amandlastenberg," he wrote in his caption.

Stenberg responded to the post, "Awwww for love and light."

As most fans know, Best also received many hate messages from toxic fans due to his portrayal of Jar Jar Best in the prequel trilogy. The character was so strongly disliked that it affected the actor's personal life.

He has been making a presence in the Star Wars franchise again for the last few years as he played Jedi Master Kelleran Beq in Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge and an episode of The Mandalorian season 3.

It is great to see Best show his support for Stenberg and he knows how tough and challenging the experience must be which is why he strongly empathized with the actress.

Stenberg has also weighed in on the cancellation news recently, saying that the news was "not a huge shock" for her due to the hate they've been receiving.

"I’m going to be transparent and say it’s not a huge shock for me. There has been a rampage of vitriol that we have faced since the show was even announced, when it was still just a concept and no one had even seen it," she said.

"That’s when we started experiencing a rampage of, I would say, hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol, prejudice, hatred and hateful language towards us."
