Pedro Pascal’s commentary on the crossover between The Last of Us’ Ellie and The Mandalorian’s Grogu has sent both sides of the fandoms on a frenzy as they continue to predict how Ellie and Grogu could ever get along despite their complete differences. Well, for one thing, Pascal’s Joel and Din Djarin happen to be pretty similar in terms of being a father figure to their surrogate TV children.
“I feel like [Ellie and Grogu] would walk off into the sunset together, to be honest with you,” Pascal told Entertainment Weekly, “They’d be best friends.”
Recently, a fan of both shows took to Twitter their fan art piece showcasing Ellie carrying Grogu while Joel Miller leads them on their journey through the post-apocalyptic world of The Last of Us. With a more colorful structure, Teen Titans Go! art director Dan Hipp transformed Pascal’s sentiment to life. Check out the fan art below:

The piece illustrates the more adorable side of The Last of Us, despite its complete opposite setup, with Ellie carrying Grogu in her arms as Joel Miller leads the trail ahead as he carries Din Djarin’s helmet on his back with his signature grumpy look.
Thanks to Pascal, the two fandoms banded together at the thought of having crossovers between the two shows. One other fan actually suggested that this would be the crossover of the “century” if Pedro Pascal’s Joel were to see Grogu.
This, however, was not received well by fans, with their instant reactions indicating that Joel would be far too protective and instinctive in eliminating Grogu rather than adopting him, which is pretty much the opposite of what Din did in The Mandalorian.
For now, The Last of Us Episode 8 is available to stream on HBO, while The Mandalorian Season 3 is streaming on Disney+.
The next episode of The Mandalorian arrives on March 15th, while The Last of Us Episode 9 is set to be conclude its first season on March 12, Sunday.
