Adam Driver Wants To Move On From His "Disastrous" Star Wars Role

There is no doubt that while Adam Driver had potential in the Star Wars franchise, the Ben Solo / Kylo Ren actor, who played the central antagonist in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy (2015-2019), Driver has no intention of reprising his role nor returning to the franchise altogether, especially given that the films were not at all beloved by its loyal fans.

“This is not at all on the agenda. This experience will forever remain one of the highlights of my career, but I aspire to other adventures.” Driver told LeMatin (via Fandom Wire), “I want to disappear. I want to be forgotten so that I can be offered other very different projects.”

To be fair, it’s only natural that actors normally want to be lured away from being type-casted and Driver is no different in refusing to be tied down to the billion-dollar franchise in possibly the worst trilogy to star in.

The Star Wars sequel trilogy consisted of The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker, and while the first two installments received a score of 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, The Rise of Skywalker only earned 52%, which did not end the series on a good note for Star Wars fans.

On the other hand, though, Driver has reportedly been eyed by Marvel Studios to jump into their franchise to become a part of Marvel’s first family. Apparently, the Fantastic Four reboot sees Driver playing the role of Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards or even as yet another antagonistic role, Doctor Doom. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, Driver would be able to rock the role either way.

However, given that a recent report from a self-proclaimed insider is stating that John Krasinski will continue to play the role of Reed Richards despite new casting reports, it looks like Driver would become the frontrunner to play Doctor Doom, instead.
