Deadpool Creator Has Made Peace With the Idea of No Deadpool 3

Disney may have recently acquired the rights to the X-Men, Deadpool, Fantastic Four, and all of 21st Century Fox's mutant heroes, however, Marvel has yet to announce its plans to integrate these characters into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While Marvel fans understand that Marvel has its hands tied with Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the franchise, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has seemingly come to terms with the possibility of Deadpool 3 never getting made.

Speaking in an interview with Collider, the comic book creator discussed Deadpool's transition into the MCU, saying that he has made peace with the idea that the gears behind the next Deadpool movie may not be turning any time soon.

"You know what? There may not be another Deadpool, and I'm fine. Because I have to live with the fact that I had two amazing experiences, two movies I'm extremely proud of, I love knowing everybody on those movies. I love Ryan [Reynolds], Josh [Brolin], Zazie [Beets], David [Leitch], Tim Miller," Liefeld explained during his discussion with the entertainment news outlet. "All of them. The work they did was fantabulous, those movies are here to stand the test of time. You know, but in the world we live in, nothing is guaranteed. And it takes a lot to make movies. And post-quarantine, it's weird."

Liefeld has been one of those actively looking for updates about Ryan Reynold's Deadpool in the MCU. However, there are certain realities that the entertainment industry must face. Like many other studios, Marvel has to pick itself up on its feet after the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the production of its upcoming film and television projects and pushed back the release of movies like Black Widow.

We'll just have to sit back and wait to hear what Marvel has planned for the Merc with a Mouth.
