Suicide Squad Japanese Poster Pays Tribute to Starro the Conqueror

We already know that Starro will be the biggest villain in The Suicide Squad and we mean that. After all, the gigantic alien starfish was referred to as a Kaiju in the red-band trailer. So it's no surprise that the Japanese poster for the DC Extended Universe flick pays tribute to the gargantuan baddie.

There was no shortage of Kaiju references in the first trailer for The Suicide Squad. It all makes sense considering that Starro is huge enough to take on Godzilla or Kong (or both). However, the DC comic book villain has other enemies to think about in the upcoming movie.

The official poster for the film that has been released in Japan capitalizes on that size and shows us just how scary a humongous seastar can be. Oh, and it also features Task Force X somewhere at the bottom.

It's an awesome poster and we're a little sorry that it's only being released in Japan. In addition to that, it confirms that Starro has a large role in The Suicide Squad. On the other hand, the film has a lot of major surprises so we can't wait for its premiere next week.

The Suicide Squad is directed by James Gunn and brings back Harley Quinn, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and Jai Courtney. The film will also introduce Idris Elba, John Cena, David Dastmalchian, Peter Capaldi, Sylvester Stallone, Nathan Fillion, Flula Borg, Steve Agee, and more. The movie will premiere in theaters and on HBO Max on August 5, 2021.
