Star Wars: Diego Luna Finally Reveals the Truth About That Jabba the Hutt Obsession

Remember when Diego Luna couldn't stop talking about Jabba the Hutt? The star of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story had previously admitted that he was intrigued with the character and wanted to touch the alien's skin. Several years later, people simply won't stop asking about the whole Jabba obsession so Luna decided to tell the truth about "that one interview."

Luna was recently a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where he was once again asked why he wanted to touch Jabba. The star of the upcoming Cassian Andor series insisted that he only mentioned it in one interview but Fallon had prepared several clips of Luna repeatedly mentioning Jabba's name.

So what's this whole Jabba obsession about? Luna insisted that he was merely curious about what the alien's skin felt like.

"The texture of Jabba's belly," Luna said. "But that was one interview! Then I was asked and asked and asked about Jabba. It suddenly started to feel like I was in love with Jabba. It's not, I'm sorry!"

Luna made sure that people understood that he isn't obsessed with Jabba. He faced the camera and made a declaration.

"I am not in love with Jabba. That was one big mistake I made," Luna said. "I have like seven Jabbas at home. Everyone gives me Jabbas. ‘What's the best gift for Diego? He turned 40, oh, your Jabba!' No!"

To be fair, it did sound like Luna was in love with Jabba. On the other hand, we're still glad that he made it clear that it's not some weird kink.

Luna is expected to begin working on the new Star Wars series by the end of the year. The still-untitled Rogue One spin-off is then set to premiere on Disney+ by 2021.
