It has been a while since we got any updates on Star Trek: Picard Season 2. After all, the new season isn't supposed to begin production until next year. However, it looks like filming on the highly anticipated second chapter of the CBS All Access series will be slightly delayed in 2021.
A fan recently reached out to Jeri Ryan asking for an update on the show. "Is Picard still on track to begin production on season 2 in January, or has that been pushed back?" the fan asked. Ryan immediately had an interesting response. Check it out below.
Pushed to Feb. 1 now— Jeri Ryan (@JeriLRyan) December 23, 2020
"Pushed to Feb. 1 now," Ryan wrote.
It's not exactly a huge surprise that filming is being delayed. After all, the cast and crew are expected to move forward carefully and abide by safety protocol when they start production. Nevertheless, we're just glad to know that the delay is only a few weeks.
Ryan is expected to return as Seven of Nine in Star Trek: Picard Season 2 which will also bring back Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Although the premise of the second season is still a mystery, there is a good chance that both characters will continue to play major roles in the series.
Star Trek: Picard Season 2 was initially set to begin production in early January. However, filming will now be pushed back to the first week of February. The new season has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
