Jonathan Frakes Shares New Details from Star Trek Discovery Season 3

We're still waiting for any updates on Star Trek Discovery Season 3. After all, the upcoming season has not yet been given an official premiere date. However, it looks like Jonathan Frakes wants to keep Trekkies hyped up for the new season. The Star Trek: Picard actor has just teased some interesting new details about the third season of the CBS All Access series.

Frakes, who directed a few episodes for Discovery, recently spoke to Comicbook.com where he confirmed that Season 3 will focus on what happened to Sonequa Martin-Green's character.

"Discovery has primarily to do with Sonequa's character, as you'll see. At the end of Season 2, we flash-forwarded I think 930 years. Michael Burnham has found a new core, not to mention a new partner in crime. So again, there's a big tonal shift on that show, less driven by the pain and guilt of her past and more about the magical reunification of the Discovery crew and wherever she went off to," Frakes said.

It sure sounds like we'll be getting some flashbacks that could explain what happened to Michael. Needless to say, Frakes promises that the third season will be well worth the wait.

"God knows where she went as the Red Angel. So those two things coming back together is very much the theme, and how grateful everyone is and what's next. It's got a lot of action-adventure and not so much pain," he said.

We've already seen glimpses of what could happen in Discovery Season 3 and it looks like there will be major changes for Michael and the crew. Needless to say, we can't wait to finally see the next season.

Star Trek Discovery Season 3 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
