J.K. Rowling Still Working On Fantastic Beasts 3 Script

We're still waiting for any updates on Fantastic Beasts 3 and it looks like the highly anticipated sequel will take a little bit longer than expected. It has just been revealed that J.K. Rowling is still hard at work on the script for the Harry Potter sequel.

The update comes from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald star Eddie Redmayne who was recently in attendance at the Toronto International Film Festival (via Cinemablend). When asked how the third film is developing so far, Redmayne revealed that yes, Rowling isn't quite done with the script yet.

"Well, we're meant to start shooting in the beginning of next year. The script is still being worked on. That's nothing -- I'm literally giving you nothing! I'm trying to do that thing of talking about it and saying nothing, because of the fear of getting told off. But no, it's happening, and it's really exciting," he said.

No spoilers here, but Redmayne somehow confirmed that Rowling is rewriting the script for Fantastic Beasts 3. There have been speculations that the screenplay needs some fixing after The Crimes of Grindelwald was poorly received by fans. Since Rowling is one author who tends to cater to the fandom, there is a huge possibility that she is trying to come up with something that will please her supporters.

We're still not sure what will happen in Fantastic Beasts 3 but people can expect all of the main cast to return in the sequel. This would include Johnny Depp, who played Gellert Grindelwald in the first two movies, despite several fans begging for the character to be recast.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is currently scheduled for release on November 2021.
