New Metal Gear Solid V Update Makes Quiet Playable

It looks like there's still plenty of reasons to play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. While the main story in the game is a mess (and the development history even messier), in terms of actual gameplay it's still a fun time and people have invested in its multiplayer mode. Konami, for all of their shady tactics, has decided to throw fans a bone in the most recent update by making a fan-favorite character playable; Quiet.

After years of demanding it, Quiet can finally be used in the game's FOB (Forward Operating Base) missions. This was confirmed by Konami when announcing a major update for the now three-year-old game. It's still quite impressive to see this title get some support and the fact that it came from Konami, who seem to have stopped making games altogether, is quite the feat.

Unfortunately, fans hoping to change Quiet's revealing gear are in for some bad news. She is stuck in her underwear and fans can't even change her head options. This is a bit of a shame but it seems like Konami is willing to stick with the storyline Hideo Kojima came up for her need to be nude, even if they've thrown away everything else he's done.

Last year's update added Revolver Ocelot to the game's playable roster so getting Quiet a full year after is surprising, to say the least. Now if only Konami would actually give us those missing story elements that will make the rest of the game more playable.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is now available on PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
