After essentially being one of the main characters in The Last Jedi, talking a bit about her past and building up her story, Star Wars fans were excited to learn more about Rose Tico in The Rise of Skywalker. And since it's the last movie of the sequel trilogy, some people expected that Rose will finally get to interact with Rey in the movie too. Well, that's not exactly the case.

This article contains potential SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Being left behind at the Rebel base because General Leia needed her, Rose Tico's screentime ended up just barely over a minute. Star Wars fans weren't exactly happy about this because besides the very little screentime, people weren't fond of how they used her role in the movie either.

In a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kelly Marie Tran was gushing about the scenes her character had with Rey in Episode IX. Both Rey and Rose didn't have any scenes together in The Last Jedi, which is why Tran admitted that "it's really cool" to have those scenes in the latest movie.

She also talked about how it was "cool" to have "female energy" on set and that she was "really excited" for fans to see the two characters finally interact. She even teased about how both Rey and Rose have the "same objective" in Episode IX. However, upon release of the film, none of those scenes didn't make the final cut.

There were a few parts where both of them were in the same place, which was at the Rebel base. However, there were no scenes that showed the two speaking or interacting with each other at all.

It's unfortunate that we never got to see both of them together in the film, and judging from Tran's comment, it seemed like she really enjoyed filming those scenes. That being said, it is good to know that they had some scenes, and I do hope that they could at least include some of these clips in the extras.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters.
