Plot details about Matt Reeves' The Batman are mostly kept under wraps, though it has been speculated for a while that the film will explore Bruce Wayne's second year as the Dark Knight. The stars have been doing some comic research to prep for their roles, including Zoe Kravitz, who'll be playing the role of Catwoman.

In a recent interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Kravitz talked about her prep for the movie. "I've been reading the Year One comic," the actress revealed. "It's wonderful…it's great, it's great. It's like super badass!

The Batman: Year One comic is where Selina Kyle gets inspired by Batman to put her own costume and become Catwoman to start her life of high-profile burglaries. She's mistaken for working with the Dark Knight at first, but they eventually became an item in The Long Halloween.

The Long Halloween actually takes place not long after Year One. Given that the film will reportedly explore Bruce Wayne's second year in donning the cape, it has been speculated that The Long Halloween will be the inspiration for the film.

Reeves has previously revealed that The Batman won't be an origin story though, and that he won't be doing any particular comic, including Year One. However, the said comic, along with The Long Halloween, could likely just be a mere inspiration for the movie and will instead lead a direction of its own.

Kravitz is part of the process in designing her Catwoman suit, she also teased that it'll have "references to the year of comic we're dealing with."

The Batman is set for release on October 1, 2021.
