The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano who plays Cara Dune on the hit Disney+ series has been facing her fair share of controversies and backlash in the past few weeks. Ever since The Mandalorian season 2 started, the actress has been vocal on her stance regarding her opinions on various social and political issues on her social media.
The actress has the freedom to express her opinions and post what she wants although many fans are divided on it. For some fans, the opinions of the actress on certain issues such as the COVID-19 vaccine and face masks can be divisive. Some people support her views, while others are against her viewpoints. This led to a great deal of press coverage and social media talk for The Mandalorian actress. However, not all of it is positive.
Carano's recent post wherein she was mocking the mail-in votes which gained 38,000 likes, sparked the hashtag #FireGinaCarano. Carano started on a social media post that she is willing to have an open discussion on various issues. However, this did not quell the backlash the actress is getting. Nevertheless, as the saying goes, there is no such thing as bad press.
On IMDb's StarMeter chart, Carano rose to the top second spot in the list. The IMDb list ranks any fil or television celebrities, on how popular they at a certain time. Carano only ranks just below the top one, which is Anya Taylor-Joy, the lead actress of the very popular Netflix series, The Queen's Gambit.
Carano even ranks above Pedro Pascal, the main star of the hit Disney series, The Mandalorian. Pascal previously showed support for Carano on social media. Although Carano's views can be considered divisive, some fans are still standing by her.
That said, The Mandalorian season 2 recently ended with many surprises. The Mandalorian season 3 is scheduled for release in December 2021.
