A Quiet Place: Part II actress Emily Blunt revealed the reason that led her to turn down the role of Black Widow. She was approached in Iron Man 2, as well as in the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Blunt revealed to Howard Stern that she explained that it was similar to how she was contracted to do Gulliver's Travels even though she didn't want to do it, not because it's beneath her. It was a similar approach to the Iron Man role for Black Widow that was offered to her.

Blunt revealed that she is obsessed with Iron Man and would want to work with Robert Downey Jr . which would have been amazing. However, the actress noted that she isn't sure if superhero movies are for her. She added that it is simply not right up her alley. She doesn't like them, and further noted, "I really don't."

The actress added that some superhero films leave her "a bit cold" and that it has been exhausted. The actress added that the audience is already inundated with not just the movies but the endless TV shows as well. Blunt added that it's not like she'd ever want to play one but it has to be a really cool character that will make her interested.

Blunt had to turn down the role of Black Widow in Iron Man which became Scarlett Johansson's gain. Johansson played the role in multiple MCU films and is set to have her first solo film this year.

Black Widow will be released on July 9 on theaters and Disney+ Premier Access.
