Brianna Hildebrand on Negasonic Teenage Warhead Appearance in Deadpool 2

With the massive success of Deadpool, a sequel is pretty much a no-brainer. In fact, even before the release of the film on Valentine's Day, Fox already greenlit Deadpool 2. However, the same can't be said for the characters featured in the box-office hit, specifically Brianna Hildebrand's Negasonic Teenage Warhead.

Speaking to Yahoo recently, Hildebrand revealed:

I haven't really talked to anybody about sequels, it's just the word on the street at the moment. But that would be so awesome. … I would definitely want for Negasonic's character to be more explored. But I'm not actually sure about [where she fits into the wider X-Men universe] because there's not much that I know about the X-Men world.

Budget for Deadpool had been tight, which is why (spoiler alert!) there hadn't been a lot of X-Men characters showcased in the film. Hildebrand's Negasonic and Stefan Kapicic's Colossus had been handpicked and well thought out by producers Simon Kinberg, Ryan Reynolds, and Lauren Shuler Donner, director Tim Miller, and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

It's worth noting that it did the film a whole lot of good having tighter budget restrictions. In fact, it could have played a role as to why Deadpool had become the success that it is now. Because of the restrictions, the aforementioned creators had to double, even triple check every character appearance in the film and make it worthwhile. Having so much X-Men characters thrown into the pool (pun intended) would also probably veered the attention away from Deadpool most of the time, or that the X-Men characters' appearances could have ended up being nonsense even.

With more screen time for Negasonic and Colossus, we got to see more of their interaction and funny banter with the Merc With A Mouth, and more time for Wade Wilson to use that mouth for funny insults towards the two.

There's clear chemistry between Deadpool, Colossus, and Negasonic, but it remains to be seen whether Deadpool 2 will have enough budget to feature the two X-Men, especially since the time traveling, bionic armed mutant Cable will be joining the pool too.

Personally, I'd like to see Negasonic Teenage Warhead appear in Deadpool 2 and see how she works with Wade Wilson in a superhero group. Considering Deadpool's huge success at the box office, it wouldn't hurt bringing in more juice to the production. Maybe we'll see Negasonic after all, with several other X-Men characters added in. Reynolds did mention the X-Force in a recent interview.
