It's no secret that Warner Bros. isn't a huge fan of director Zack Snyder and his vision for the DC Extended Universe and while Snyder was able to helm three projects for the franchise, his involvement in future projects has seemingly been put to an end following the release of his original Justice League cut. Now, WB is evidently moving forward with its own DCEU plans, something that has made a lot of fans quite angry.

With Snyder out of the picture permanently, the studio has announced plans for a Superman reboot which would not involve Henry Cavill's version of the Man of Steel. The said reboot doesn't take place within the DCEU continuity but interestingly, the project produced by Star Wars director J.J. Abrams will feature a black version of Clark Kent. When asked by Radio Times what he makes of the entire situation, Snyder pretty much gave the idea his seal of approval.

According to the Army of the Dead director, a black Kal-El is long overdue but while he's down with the idea, he reiterated that his Superman will always be Henry Cavill. He explained: "My feeling is that I love JJ [Abrams], I love what he's done in the past. I'm interested to see what happens, it's a bold and cool and probably long overdue move. But I love Henry [Cavill] as Superman, of course I do. He's my superman."

Despite acting as a producer for James Gunn's upcoming "soft reboot" of The Suicide Squad, Snyder stressed that he's not in any way involved in the studio's decision-making process despite the fact that he pretty much kickstarted the universe in 2013. He added: "I'm not really involved in any of the decision-making at Warner Brothers in any way, so I guess for me it's just wait and see what they do with this and how it manifests itself. But on the surface, it seems interesting."

The completion and release of Zack Snyder's Justice League pretty much exposed all of the things wrong with WB and it's a shame that Snyder and the studio couldn't get on the same page despite the persistent demand from the fans to let Snyder continue his DCEU tenure. We still don't know what the future holds for the franchise but given how convoluted it has become, it's getting harder and harder to fix.

Other details about WB's Superman reboot are being kept under wraps.
