Avengers: Endgame pretty much solidified that Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel are true forces to be reckoned with. Both characters went toe-to-toe with the Mad Titan Thanos himself and it can't be denied that they pushed him to the limit. The question is, who exactly came close to almost defeating the colossal villain?
WandaVision's Episode 5 raises an interesting debate as to which hero nearly obliterated Thanos and according to Monica Rambeau herself, Wanda Maximoff would've easily taken down the Mad Titan if he only played fair and not called for his troops to rain fire.
However, Jimmy Woo likes to think otherwise and he's more than convinced that it was actually Captain Marvel who came real close to conquering the iconic Marvel Cinematic Universe villain. After seeing the brief banter, it's quite intriguing how Monica ended up choosing Wanda instead of her Auntie Carol whom she shares a lot of history with.
Now, while I strongly believe that both characters ended up proving that they can match Thanos' brute force and power, my money is definitely on Wanda, and if you'd go back to seeing the tense showdown between the two, Thanos was clearly struggling to defend himself from the Scarlet Witch's wrath. Taking nothing away from Captain Marvel though, she was still beyond impressive but the power stone was just too much for her, I guess.
