We're just a few weeks away from the premiere of Marvel Studios' Loki starring Tom Hiddleston and after all the action, suspense, and realism The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was able to bring to the table, fans will once again be treated to a one-of-a-kind experience courtesy of the one and only God of Mischief. The series is set to take place in different timelines with the notorious Marvel villain playing the hero role in order to restore balance into the timelines he accidentally messed up after stealing the Tesseract following the Battle of New York in 2012.

Now, ahead of the series' Disney+ debut, Marvel Studios released brand new images from the show to rev up the hype engine even more. The image sees the cunning Loki as he seemingly finds himself on the wrong side of the Time Variance Authority led by Owen Wilson's character Mobius M. Mobius. Interestingly, Loki is in the grasp of two TVA agents who seem to have control over the mighty Asgardian. Check out the images courtesy of Entertainment Weekly here:

Details about the show's actual plot remain undisclosed and as it stands, the series is still shrouded by mystery. However, judging by the stuff we've seen from the teasers so far, it looks like Loki will be the show everyone in the Marvel fandom should be on the lookout for. Now, whether his actions will have serious ramifications in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's current continuity remains to be seen but it's safe to assume that the "returning" character will be a major player in the franchise's ongoing fourth phase. The show is already so intriguing that it makes me even more excited for it to finally drop.

Loki hits Disney+ on June 9, 2021.
