A lot of fans believe that Aaron Taylor-Johnson wasn't given a fair shot at portraying his role as Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron and it was clear from the get-go that Marvel Studios didn't have much plans for the character who got killed off towards the end of the film only to fuel Wanda Maximoff's anger which would later lead to her madness in the MCU.

WandaVision attempted to mess with the emotions of its viewers when they teased what seemed to be ATJ being cast as Pietro in Wanda's new pocket reality in Episode 5. As it turns out, it wasn't him and it would later be revealed to be his Kickass co-star and fellow Quicksilver actor Evan Peters. Now, in a stunning new development, Aaron may actually reprise his Pietro role after all.

According to a new scoop from the good folks over at Giant Freakin' Robot, Taylor-Johnson is currently in talks with Marvel Studios for a potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And while key details about his rumored comeback are still unclear as of writing, the general belief is that Quicksilver could end up being resurrected in the franchise.

Of course, just like any other rumor, take this one with a huge grain of salt but considering the desire of fans to see ATJ back in the fold, it wouldn't be too farfetched to believe that Marvel Studios is actually toying with the idea of bringing him back. I guess it all goes down to when, where, and how because you know, everything still needs to make sense. Now, as much as I'm not a fan of ATJ's take on the character, I'd still be willing to see him back in the MCU and hopefully, he'll be given a much more prominent role.

All episodes of WandaVision are available for streaming on Disney+.
