Adam Driver Says Star Wars: Episode VIII is Remarkable

Now that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been released earlier this month, Lucasfilm will start to promote Star Wars: Episode VIII in the coming months, and Kathleen Kennedy recently revealed when Star Wars: Episode VIII trailer will launch. Now, one of the film's stars is raving about the highly-anticipated sequel to The Force Awakens.

During a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Dam Driver discussed his work in the Star Wars universe, and the actor, best known for playing the villainous Kylo Ren, was asked about his experience working with director Rian Johnson on Episode VIII, and Driver just praised the film.

"He's a brilliant filmmaker," Driver said. "And he wrote the script also, and he understands the importance of ambiguity and nuance. He wrote something that I think is remarkable."

The 33-year-old actor talked about how extraordinary his life has been since he was cast in Star Wars. "It is a trip! I'm not very good at analyzing it, I guess, or even making time to attach meaning to it. So much of it is luck, and timing. I work hard but I can work hard in a vacuum," he said.

"I've been lucky to get these opportunities. It's very surreal to me. In working on the jobs—and actually doing the thing—I block that stuff from my mind as much as possible, because it's not good to get nostalgic or overthink it. That might be a good strength of mine: not thinking a lot."

Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to release in theaters on December 15, 2017.
