Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead Zombies Might Have a Similar Goal to Marvel's Zombies

Zack Snyder's upcoming film on Netflix titled Army of the Dead will introduce viewers to a new kind of zombie. The movie will introduce intelligent and organized zombies. This makes the undead truly terrifying in that they are able to be able to organize and rally behind a common goal. They can hunt down humans who have come to Las Vegas in the hopes of stealing millions of dollars that are hidden in an abandoned casino.

This will not be the first time that smart zombies have been put to film, the idea of smart zombies is extended throughout various genres. However, Marvel comics have also explored the concept of intelligent zombies. Army of the Dead zombies may have shared the goal that Marvel's zombies may have.

Marvel's zombies first introduced the zombies in the pages of the Ultimate Fantastic Four. Marvel's zombies exist in an alternate version of the Marvel Universe. In this alternate version, almost every hero and villain were infected with a disease that turned them into zombies.

The Marvel zombies maintain intelligence but were infected by the virus called the Hunger, leaving them yearning for living flesh. After they have devoured most of Earth's life, they open portals to find new prey.

As CBR has shared in detail, just like Marvel zombies, Army of the Dead explores zombies who have swarms of undead enemies who can strategize and organize themselves to a common goal. These types of zombies show how humans are unprepared for this new kind of threat.

Army of the Dead will be released on Netflix on May 21, 2021.
