Shazam is currently one of the strongest and most powerful beings in the DC Extended Universe but the question on everyone's mind is: does Billy Batson aka the World's Mightiest Mortal have what it takes to defeat the Man of Steel himself should they come face-to-face? Well, if you'd ask actor Zachary Levi, there's no doubt in his mind that he can survive a mega-fight between him and Superman.
Appearing at the Los Angeles Comic-Con (via ScreenRant), the Shazam! Fury of the Gods actor made a bold claim regarding his chances against Superman and confidently said that he has the edge over Kal-El. He said: “I got to bet on me… Kryptonite screws him up, magic screws him up even more. But honestly, based on the comics, it’s pretty much like a rubber-match. And I kind of like that, I like that they’re not picking a victor, but clearly, I’m going to kick his ass.”

We've seen Shazam and Supes square-off in the comics and in animation in the past but there's absolutely no doubt that a live-action clash between the two iconic DC heroes will be a match for the ages. I gotta say though, while I like Shazam's chances of taking the Man of Steel to his limit, Superman will always be Superman so my money will always be on him. Sorry, Zachary.
Also, in order for that fight to happen on the big screen, Warner Bros. and DC Films should get their act together and bring Henry Cavill back to the franchise. We don't know what the future holds for sure but I'm hopeful we'll see him back as Superman.
Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit cinemas in 2023.
