The series stars Kim Go Eun and GOT7 Jinyoung and is told from the perspective of the protagonist's brain cells that control her thoughts, feelings, and movements.

Yumi’s Cells 2 Episode 9 sees Yumi meeting her web novel’s illustrator, Control Z, for the first time. Unlike what she expected, Control Z was an immature young man who kept getting on her nerves.
Yumi had a bad first impression of her illustrator, especially when he said her work was unrealistic.
This irritating feeling went on during a few more meetings. Yumi thought he was an unmannered young man who liked getting her pissed off. And this was further proved when Control Z left an offensive comment on one of Yumi’s posts.
Meanwhile, Yumi flies to Jeju Island to spend Christmas and New Year with Babi. She arrives at Babi’s house filled with confusion as she sees people coming from inside.
It turns out that Babi had put out the property and is planning to move out to an apartment near his office.

Kim Go Eun Reconsiders Her Dislikes In Yumi’s Cells 2 Episode 9
Filled with anticipation, Yumi decorates Babi’s house and the front yard trees with Christmas lights. She decided to get a cake from a nearby bakery, and when she was on her way back, she saw Daeun staring outside Babi’s house.
Yumi got shocked to see her, but she immediately exchanged greetings with the young woman. Daeun told her that she enjoys reading her web novel, making the newbie writer shy.
It turns out that Daeun was back in the neighborhood during the holidays and will still return to Busan for her work. Yumi expressed how sad she was that it would be more difficult to see each other as Babi will move out.
The news got Daeun emotional, which absolutely had Yumi confused. Daeun was worried that she might be the reason why Babi was moving out. And that reaction had Yumi enraged.
Yumi reconsiders her dislikes regarding dating and realizes that Babi already did everything she hated. But she was too understanding to have it as a big deal. And Babi is a good man.
However, a short moment of pondering left Yumi with the most difficult decision.

Yumi's most hated fact is having a boyfriend who gets swayed by another woman even for just a moment. She can’t let it pass, especially when she asks Babi whether he felt something unusual when Daeun confessed to him.
It was a terrible mistake for Babi as he took his time to respond. At that moment, Yumi knew that she couldn’t be with Babi anymore, and even if they continued their relationship, she wouldn’t be able to see him the same as before.
This led to Yumi’s Love Cell exploding with rage. The other cells then had no choice but to choose a new Prime Cell– Yumi’s Writer Cell.
Yumi chose herself and broke up with Babi. She leaves with her things and returns to Seoul, spending Christmas Eve alone as she tucks herself to bed.
