At the Star Wars Celebration last month, Lucasfilm officially announced that Alden Ehrenreich will play the young Han Solo in the Star Wars spin-off film helmed by The LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
While the film won't be released in theaters until 2018, various rumors and reports about the film are already circulating online, and the latest one, according to The Wrap, claims that a young Lando Calrissian will appear in the film.
We learned that Han and Lando have a long implied history together when Calrissian met him in Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back. We know that Lando used to own the Millennium Falcon, until he lost it to Han Solo "fair and square" in a game of Sabaac.
The Wrap didn't mention any actors that Lucasfilm and the directors might be considering, but I wont' be surprised if they officially confirm the casting news by next year. So who do you want to see play the young Lando? For some reason, Michael B. Jordon was the first actor to pop up in my mind, but I'm sure there are lot of other talented Black actors out there who can pull off Calrissian's swag.
The untitled Han Solo Star Wars film will hit theaters on May 25, 2018.
