Yoo Jae Suk cannot be outshined that easily as the country’s national MC.

Throughout his decades-old career, Yoo Jae Suk has been nominated by various organizations and received recognitions from different accolades. As of the writing, he has 75 nominations and won 68 of which.

In 2021 alone, the Running Man star collected 10 nominations and won nine of them, including Brand of the Year Awards’ Male Variety Show Star, Korea First Brand Awards’ Best Variety Entertainer, and MBC Entertainment Awards’ Daesang, among others.

As he continues to host several award-winning shows like Running Man and Hangout with Yoo, Yoo Jae Suk scored another award and beat other MCs in South Korea.

Yoo Jae Suk Ranks 1st on Brand Reputation Rankings For Variety Stars

From February 1 to March 1, the Korean Business Research Institute collected data involving 50 popular entertainers. It includes analyzing media coverage, community awareness indexes, and consumer participation from February 1 to March 1.

For this month, Yoo Jae Suk earned a whopping 2.1 million brand reputation index, pushing him on the No. 1 spot. The institute noted that high-ranking phrases that people searched alongside Yoo Jae Suk’s name included How Do You Play?, short track, speak, hit, and introduced.

His positivity and negativity analysis also gained 83.02 percent positive responses.

Hong Hyun Hee is following him on the list with a brand reputation index of 1.8 million. Scoring third place is his Running Man co-cast member, Kim Jong Kook, whose index is around 1.5 million.

Yoo Jae Suk Also Received Bad News

While Yoo Jae Suk enjoys attention from South Korean fans, the host recently faced backlash in China following the remarks he made in Hangout with You. The issue caused his Chinese Fanclub, Yooniverse, to end its operation on Monday.

The fanclub shared one last message on its Weibo account, saying that it disbanded due to the differences in Yoo Jae Suk and the fans’ directions.

The bad news came after Yoo Jae Suk left fans dismayed during the February 19 episode of the variety show. At that time, he expressed his concern toward the alleged biased judgment at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Korean skater Hwang Dae Heon got disqualified after late passing and making contact with other players.

The Chinese skater who appeared to have pushed the South Korean athlete during the race made it to the next round without getting any penalty for what he had done.

Aside from Yoo Jae Suk, BTS’ RM and rapper Paloalto also suffered condemnation from Chinese internet users.
