Yoda Fan Theory Debunked By New Photo For The Last Jedi

There might not be much word on the first official trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, however it seems like Lucasfilm's been trying to fill up fan's thirst for the highly-anticipated Star Wars sequel trilogy installment by letting out new photos and images of The Force Awakens sequel.

One of these recently released images features Rey (Daisy Ridley) getting ready to train on Ahch-To, and while it seems pretty innocent enough, the new photo actually debunks a popular fan theory that Yoda might participate in the Force sensitive Jakku Orphan's training.

Back when Lucasfilm released The Last Jedi teaser trailer in April, eagle-eyed fans noticed a strange silhouette standing over the shadow of Rey, and some claimed that the shadow might actually belong to everyone's favorite green Grand Master of the Jedi Order, Yoda.

Having Yoda pop up in The Last Jedi seems like a pretty exciting idea; however a newly released image by Yahoo! Movies debunks this theory. Featuring Rey on what seems to be the same training ground featured in The Last Jedi teaser trailer, the new photo shows Rey with her back turned towards the camera, getting ready to train with her staff in hand.

There's no one around to accompany the young Force sensitive Jakku orphan while training. Instead of seeing Yoda, we see a twisting rock whose upper half might have cast the shape of the Grand Jedi Master. Guess Rey'll have to content herself with training with the jaded Luke (Mark Hamill).

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
