Frieren continues to be one of the Fall 23 anime season’s highlights thanks to its unique story and beautiful art style. Its look isn’t the only thing eye-catching though, as the Frieren opening song by YOASOBI will get a beautiful, limited edition single release with a collector-worthy treasure chest.
This special edition single was revealed via the anime and YOASOBI’s official website. There, the contents of the package were detailed.
The contents make it a must-have for the biggest Frieren and YOASOBI fans.
YOASOBI Cooks Up Another Hit Song, This Time for Frieren
It’s fair to say that YOASOBI is one of the most popular music acts in Japan right now thanks to their release of hit after hit.
The duo became popular in 2020, and they have since gained even more fans, especially on the back of their anime songs, including for titles like Beastars and Gundam: Witch from Mercury.
YOASOBI’s popularity skyrocketed this year with their Oshi no Ko opening song Idol, which became a huge global hit. Now, the duo has released yet another anime song, this time for Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End.
Songs by YOASOBI are varied, but they all have an unmistakable signature sound. Thus, it’s interesting that Frieren went with the duo for its opening song, Hero.
Many fans were expecting an opening that leans more towards an acoustic sound instead of something heavily electronic. Despite this, the opening theme has been well-received by fans.

YOASOBI Frieren Opening Theme Single Comes in a Special Treasure Chest
For the most dedicated YOASOBI and Frieren fans, the upcoming limited edition single release of Hero is a must-have. That’s because the package features lots of beautiful collectibles.
To start, the package comes in a treasure box. Inside is an original short story that’s written on a paper scroll that looks straight out of the anime.
The set also comes with an illustration by Tsukasa Abe (the manga’s illustrator) and a digipak case that’s styled after the grimoires that Frieren collects in the series.
Surprisingly, the limited edition set doesn’t have an eye-watering price tag. The package has a price tag of JPY 4,545 + tax (around USD 31).
International fans are out of luck, though. Despite the surprisingly affordable price, this limited-edition single will only be released in Japanese retailers. It will be available beginning December 13, 2023.
